I awoke to a Canadian Flag flying from the hotels front pole. Seems the Danish fellow and I believe his wife noticed my tie last evening and after discussing the 88 Calgary Olympics and other things he decided to hand the flag this am. He is a part owner of the Arc Hotel along with a relative and Tanzanian partners.
This whole Canada thing must stop ... so today I decided to wear my $1.50 sun glasses... notice anything in the lenses. Also had lots of comments on the Smarter shirt Colleen ordered from the IBM logoware site as a surprise if I recall. We sent a few by the CSC corporate team to offer to our host organizations.
I caught here washing his hands in the outdoor sink!! He had just helped the female staff member lift a 10 gallon pail up and fill the tin one you see. Soap on top and used after the meal by many as at this restaurant locals eat without utensils. Negotiating the final bill was interesting with Auldrey taking the lead and stating a preference for separate bills.
Ross Hollander and Shaun share a local mango drink. A few of us had egg and fry ommlettes .. outstanding .. give it a try and let me know what you thing.
While many of the women on the team remained at the Morogoro Market about 7 of us and Phil travelled to a local football pitch where Augusto (played professionally in Costa Rica) fulfilled one of his goals for the trip when he joined a local team for their Saturday afternoon tilt. This was arranged when we met with the Morogoro Regional Commissioner who was a high level coach. Augusto floated the idea.. and here we were. He played well... and needed a drink when done!!
Very proud!
